After a 2am start from our hotel in Kuta, we hiked for three hours to reach the summit of active volcano, Mr. Batur to watch the sunrise. Fellow hikers face a new day on the crater rim. Mt. Rinjani on the neighbouring island of Lombok can be seen in the distance.

Sally Lightfoot Crabs, Galapagos Islands
This agile coastal scavenger can jump, run in four directions and scale vertical walls. They eat anything and everything including sea-lion placentas, ticks from iguanas and their fellow crabs.

Skiing The Wapta Traverse, BC, Canada
Departing the Scott Duncan Hut, tethered precariously on the N.W. shoulder of Mt. Daly, before descending the Schiesser/Lomas route to Sherbrooke Lake. The Wapta Traverse is a 3 or 4 day ski traverse across the Wapta Icefields in the Canadian Rockies taking experienced ski tourers through two national parks from Alberta to B.C.
